Groq Gives Hope

What else does the team at Groq do besides simplify compute for the world? They give back; as they should. In celebration of Companies that Care Day, I wanted to shine the spotlight about how the Groq team decided to become Champions for Children this past Holiday Season.

Due to COVID-19 infection control, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford could not accept toy donations. However, despite the pandemic, the team at Groq, with many other donors, stepped in with monetary donations to ensure that kids could still enjoy being kids during the holiday season.

The Groq team came together to bring joy and the magic of play to patients and families at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. All gifts–100%–benefited the Recreational Therapy Fun Fund. The Fun Fund ensures every patient in the hospital receives a gift during a difficult time.

Groq did a phenomenal job, raising nearly $17,000! Overall, during the holiday season, more than 40 fundraisers raised a record-breaking $75,000 through the Virtual Toy Drive campaign.

Anne Marie Angeles, Development Associate, Community Relations Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health said: “We are so grateful for all our Virtual Toy Drive Champions who helped our patients and families celebrate the holidays and keep the cheer going into 2021. We are also grateful for the employees at Groq who participated and the company that gave a matching gift which made an incredible impact!”

The hospital’s Child Life and Creative Arts team uses the Fun Fund to provide safe gifts for every child spending the holiday season at Packard Children’s and year-round to continue the fun. Toys, books, and activities are needed to stock the hospital’s playrooms, engage and distract patients at the bedside, and help children reach developmental milestones.

Still interested in giving the gift of fun? Learn how you can organize your own Virtual Toy Drive fundraiser and support patients throughout the year. Every gift, no matter what size, makes a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families.

I’m so proud of the Groq team. Even though we are still apart, we are able to virtually unite for a good cause.
